“...my classes are fun and push your paradigms for a deep exploration of your yogic expression.”
— Me, Eric

I teach a musical, fluid vinyasa. I encourage my yogis to explore consciousness through the energetic cues of the subtle body and anatomical awareness. My classes are an experience into your self, to take notice of the energetic scintillation, to feel the guttural driving emotion, and to integrate energy and emotion with the body and mind. It's a practice of gratitude for self, balancing acceptance with non-attachment, and finding peace and beauty in all things through movement.

My classes are super playful and explorative, and I look to expand the barriers of thought and physicality through utilization of the energetic breath and sentient body mindfulness. In other words, my classes are fun and push your paradigms for a deep exploration of your yogic expression.

Beyond the mat, I am an entrepreneur. I am a designer. I am a renaissance man. I am weirdly good at a lot of random things—like the Japanese art of decluttering, community building, party planning, cooking, leadership, and barbering. The Loves of my life are my two, ever-brilliant teenage beauties, Naleisha and Malia and our chuga chuga (Chihuahua/Pug) Roxy. But also, I am husband to the inspirational and fiercely compassionate wild woman, Adrienne Kimberley Rabena!

“My goal as an instructor is to guide my students into their body, mind, and heart—skillfully, thoughtfully, and lovingly—giving my students a chance to create a healthy way of being.”
— Allison

This is my passion. Teaching yoga is infectious and I love to share it with others! The movement, music, intentional breathing and mental focus is powerful stuff. Yet, my mind stays focused; my pace—relaxed. I am so present when I teach, there is no room for much else, except to revel in watching others find their own love of yoga.

I am here for my community and my students. I instruct with power, lead with purpose and communicate with clarity. My classes are focused - beginning with meditation - and we build dynamically with a blend of holds and flow. My goal as an instructor is to guide my students into their body, mind, and heart—skillfully, thoughtfully, and lovingly—giving my students a chance to create a healthy way of being.  Each class is different, offering new perspectives on the practice with emphasis on physical and mental awareness.

I have been told my classes are dynamic, purposeful and powerful, with a sense of safety through anatomical focus. I encourage my students to seek the experience, the autonomy, and the freedom to adjust according to their body. Honoring our body in this way opens a world of new possibilities and growth.

My daughters, Evelyn and Madelyn, bring me so much love and joy. Our dog, Cooper, keeps things lively! Tacos, wine and music are my guilty pleasures!  And mountain time is oh so precious....

“SOL is a second home to me and a community hub. I can’t imagine a life without this sacred space. SOL is more than yoga. It’s a home, a refuge, for so many in this community to come in and practice self-care in whatever capacity they need it. A sanctuary. I like to say SOL is the antidote to our busy, hectic and often disconnected lives. The ripple effect is huge.”

“My goal is to deeply connect students with their reason for practicing yoga through a moving meditation set to music.”
— Me, Cailin

For many years, yoga was a physical practice that I kept revisiting over time. In 2012, when I truly dove into yoga, it became a source of emotional, mental, and spiritual growth for me. Teaching yoga is a beautifully humbling yet empowering meditative experience. It makes me a better person to myself and in this world.

I offer creative yet vigorous classes, empowering students to care for themselves by tuning into their physical and emotional needs, scaling back or stepping up as needed. My goal is to deeply connect students with their reason for practicing yoga through a moving meditation set to music. I keep things simple yet meaningful.

I continue my physical yoga practice in studios, at home, and on the beach. My favorite practice companions are my two daughters, who lay under me, climb onto my leg, or flow with me, reminding me just how interconnected we all are. Off the mat, I work on social justice issues in the law and enjoy time with family and friends, biking, hiking, and climbing.

“Live truth instead of professing it.”
— Elbert Hubbard

I teach because it constantly challenges and inspires me to be my most real and present self, and because I want to share the joy and growth I've experienced from the practice.

I teach for connection. I want my students to experience a deepening connection to themselves—their own body, thoughts, fears, and strength. And I believe yoga helps to shed the barriers that keep us from connecting with each other.

I fell in love with the physical practice of  yoga, and then I noticed how much it was helping me in processing transition and learning about myself. I love SOL for the music, for the amazing community, the sunrises, and the growth I've experienced during my journey here.

When I'm not doing the yoga, I enjoy everything outside—hiking, running, biking, rafting, climbing, worshipping the mountains and rivers and trees of Washington. I also love reading/learning/volunteering for climate and social justice. My dog Suma, has my heart... and so do singalongs and dinners in bowls.

“I focus on alignment and helping students find new depth in familiar postures.”
— Me, Caroline

When yogis come practice with me they should know they will always be encouraged to pay attention to the needs of their body and spirit, taking modifications when needed and the gentle but clear encouragement when ready for more challenge. I focus on alignment and helping students find new depth in familiar postures. I love guiding students with subtle adjustments to take flight in an arm balance.

Over the years, I'd absorbed the demands and natural stress of my life into every pore of my body. Yoga was my recovery and totally captivated me with its physical and mental benefits. I was surprised to find how yoga transformed my body into its best ever physical health, but almost more, by how it guided me mentally to a more focused, settled and happier self. Through yoga, I began enjoying a new depth to my capacity to be authentic, present and available to others.

I believe yoga can reshape and feed the mind and body, and to be able to teach and share yoga's powerful benefits with students is the best I could ever imagine.

When not teaching yoga, I'm at my home here in Leschi where we always seem to have new visitors entering! I enjoy a full life—For work I teach weeklong programs up and down the state to underemployed and unemployed parents ready to reenter the work force. I enjoy time working on projects and adventuring with my husband Tadd and dog Calvin, our sons, friends and sisters. Mostly, we climb, hike, ski, and bike, and we especially love a river trip whenever we get a permit.  When not working or teaching, I’m often on the family farm in the Sacramento Delta with my 90-year old mom.

These classes are energizing and powerful, and are uniquely designed to assist athletes in building core strength and endurance while preventing injury.
— Me, Yvonne

I specialize in Power Vinyasa, Restorative Yoga, and Traditional Hatha.

My Hatha classes help guide practitioners of all levels. I assist beginners in the principles of alignment to build the foundation for a safe and sound life-long yoga practice. I inspire my intermediate students through rigorous yet accessible power classes. What's more is my amazement by my advanced students whose mind-blowing arm balances, open hips, and back-bends help my dream about someday opening up my own hips and shoulders enough to participate with them!

My power vinyasa classes are direct, no frills, and to the point. These classes are energizing and powerful, and are uniquely designed to assist athletes in building core strength and endurance while preventing injury. Using props and modifications, I assist students in exploring new poses to reach new heights in their practice.

My restorative classes are just that: deeply restorative, using props to let gravity open the body and using oils and guided meditation to let the mind rest.

When I'm not teaching yoga, I enjoy the great outdoors in every season of the year. I especially enjoy horseback riding and riding a bike through dirt in the mountains!

“Yoga showed me that happiness is not about where you are or what you do, it’s a state of mind.”
— Me, Sarah

A beginning of life crisis led me to yoga and all the subsequent crises keep me coming back for more. Teaching and practicing yoga for me is all about staying sane and understanding the human condition.  My classes are born out of my life experience and my study of the history, philosophy and science of yoga. In class, I keep it real, I sequence movements and music intentionally and I make the occasional joke too. I live to create a space where people can feel better mentally and physically.

I’m originally from the Midwest. I moved to the NW seven years ago. I worked with a large yoga company for the last 12 years opening yoga studios and training teachers. Sol yoga is my new yoga home and I am beyond grateful.

Outside of the yoga studio I am a voracious reader and podcast listener. I love to hike, run, and hang out with my dog, Riley.

“I encourage my students to use the poses as a way to experience their body rather than using their body to experience the pose.”
— Me, Vanessa

In my yoga classes, you bare witness to your emotions, thoughts, and sensations. I encourage my students to use the pose to experience their body rather than using their body to experience the pose.

In my classes, I desire to share what my teachers have shared with me. I started practicing yoga when I was 16-years-old and have studied with a diverse set of teachers with diverse backgrounds including Bikram, Baptiste, Ashtanga, Anusara, Hatha, and yin yoga. These experiences and perspectives have led me to my unique style of practicing and teaching.

When I am not on the mat or leading others through practice, I work as a consultant in organizational change and communications. More importantly, though, I cherish time with family and friends. I strive to create nourishment through conversation, walks with Maveric, yoga, dark chocolate, watercolors, recipes and pedicures.
